Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Sara Stolz has released a project that transcends the bounds of genre. The rising artist’s debut EP, Lost, prevails as a fusion of jazz, pop, R&B and indie, making it a likely favorite for listeners hailing from all different musical backgrounds.
The six track EP is eighteen minutes in length and includes both of Stolz’ debut singles, “Summer” and “River of Love.” The project also includes several new tracks such as the titular opener, “Lost” and the project’s light-hearted, but hopeful finale, “Sam’s Song.”
Stolz claims that this EP is a product of self-discovery and pure inspiration, “I wanted to capture the spontaneity of this EP in the title, so I went with Lost. I didn’t have any premeditated thoughts before I wrote each song, I really just put down what I was feeling at that exact moment. Lost really reflects the feeling in adolescence when you’re beginning to figure out who you are, but still have no idea, which can feel really isolating and scary but also really exciting.”
