TikTok, for me, has been a continual force of good when it comes to bringing phenomenal artists to my attention. Last night, my for you page graced me with a video from the LA-based artist, songwriter, and producer, Deza. In the video, she was teasing her upcoming song, “Money and Weed,” and I was immediately excited to hear the full track when it came out. Luckily for me, the song actually dropped last night at midnight! Needless to say, I’ve been listening to it on repeat since then.
Deza is one of the most unique and inspiring artists out right now and this song is absolute proof of that. When I first listened to the track in its entirety I was left speechless. Lyrically, Deza leaves no truth untold. Her words dig deep and paint a vivid picture of the reality she’s living. A large portion of the track is made up of her voice, which only adds to its magic. Her vocals, soothing and soft, leave you mesmerized and in awe from start to finish. This song is genuinely one of my favorite songs I’ve heard…ever. Do yourself a favor and check it out today!
