Rapper Chanelle Kazadi of Ravenna Ohio just released her sophomore album, Make it Work.

Showcasing creative flows, spectacular word play and gritty confidence, Kazadi shows she is a force to be reckoned with in the rap game.

Drawing inspiration from the classic Rosie the Riveteer poster, the album cover displays Chanelle posing with a flexed bicep behind a yellow background. Being a female rapper can come with a certain stigma, but with this album cover Kazadi is showing that she can hang with the best of them – male or female.

Opening the project is the track “Two Cents”. This track features a jazzy chopped up sample, rapid hi hats and bouncy kick drums. Kazadi floats over the beat demonstrating her ability to transition between flows with precision and ease.

The second song off the album “2020”, is an immediate transition to one of the slower and more introspective tracks on the album. Boom-bap drums and live hats create a chill ethereal atmosphere for Kazadi to deliver her crisp rhymes, displaying creative wordplay and ability to weave relatable and meaningful messages into her bars.

Songs such as “Message in a Bottle” and “Superheroes” share a similar vibe as “2020” consisting of carefully and creatively crafted bars and soulful intrumentals. Tracks such as “Make It Work” and “Credibility” share more of an up beat vibe with lyrically complex bars and hard hitting drums. The album altogether consists of compelling flows, meaningful lyricism and smoothly crafted instrumentals .
