Last week, 22-year-old classically trained singer/songwriter JAiRUS released his third single, “Groove,” on all streaming platforms. The single serves as the rising artist’s first release of the year.

While studying voice and jazz alongside industry legends Patrice Rushen, Ledisi and Bobby McFerran at the University of Southern California, the former church choir singer developed the tools he needed in order to perfect his craft. The product of his education prevails as his artist project, JAiRUS, which is defined by a contemporary R&B/soul soundscape.

From its title to its instrumentation, the artist’s most recent single, “Groove,”  pays homage to the 70s. JAiRUS notes, “Groove is inspired by one of my favorite periods of music: the 70’s. I started with a beat then added a bass line and I’ve been groovin’ since! I always want to encourage everyone to be their most authentic best selves and stay groovy!”

Make sure to keep an eye out for the talented JAiRUS as he continues to release music throughout ‘21, and stream “Groove” below!
