eee gee / Killing it

Last week I heard “Killing It” by eee gee and I honestly have haven’t taken it out of my daily cycly since.  I learned this morning that eee gee is actually an acronym created by 29-year-old Danish artist Emma Grankvist, one of the most powerful rising talents that I’ve come across in the past few months.  Backed by the Australian powerhouse Future Classic Emma has all of the pieces necessary to break into today’s ever-expanding pop world: a brand you’ll recognize, a quirky and intoxicating sound, and a voice that can hit the highest highs and lowest lows with an incredible degree of precision and elegance.

In her third single, “Killing It,” Emma and producer Rasmus Bille Bähncke create a soundscape that transports you to a carefree and sunny day as an incredible piano-drum pairing fills your ears.  Unlike a lot of the sad songs I’ve been listening to recently, Emma’s writing portrays feelings of empowerment and pure girl boss energy.  She delivers her message with poise, confidence, and a level of sheer honesty that comes few and far between nowadays.

From front to back, “Killing It” by eee gee is nothing short of incredible.  If you haven’t heard it yet, drop what you’re doing and follow my lead.  We also added “Killing It” to our weekly playlist on Sunday, if you haven’t checked that out, I highly suggest listening alongside 15 of our favorite rising artists of the week! Enjoy!
