BENSBEENDEAD., EVA HONEY / FRENCH EXIT

An exposition in story-telling and a melodic masterpiece, Benbeendead’s newest single “FRENCH EXIT” marks a breakthrough within the new-age lo-fi genre.

The track is entrancing, with a psychedelic mode that is perpetuated by effervescent synths and percussion. The melancholy key change is a mysterious delight to the listener’s ear. “I purposefully created a contrast between the rough and industrial tones found in the verses to the resolved chords and melody in the chorus,” said the artist.

Benbeensdead’s vocals harmonize with artist Eva Honey’s inflection perfectly to create an intimate, bedroom-pop-esque track. “Eva’s voice brings an undeniably distinctive element to the instrumentation and the harmonies in the final chorus end the song on an anthemic high note,” he speaks on. “Altogether, this song is a well-suited climax in the middle of a record that becomes revealingly darker through to the end.”

With plans to release his EP later this winter, this uniquely talented musician from Portland, Maine is sure to be a name in the music scene.
