Sexton / Paris Hilton

Before “Paris Hilton” dropped this weekend, I hadn’t heard of Sexton before. Now it’s apparent that she’s here to stay.

Sexton is from Perth, Australia, but lives in LA, where she’s been actively building her brand and catalog of music. “Paris Hilton” flaunts a punk-styled approach to contemporary pop. When done properly, the effect is gripping. It’s safe to say Sexton did more than just a proper job with this one. From the music to the visual, Sexton pushes the comfort of the listener and begs a reaction. By pushing boundaries, she shows that she’s familiar with them to begin with, yet she doesn’t give a single f***. “Paris Hilton” is one of our favorite releases from this week, and for good reason.
