Chelsea Collins’ new electric pop hit has hit streaming services today. An anthem for those who have been hurt, “WISH U HELL” calls for relinquishment against those that have treated her wrongly. The song is addictive – with her powerful vocal hooks and a toxic tale of a relationship gone sour, the track makes you feel like the most badass, confident version of yourself (in the wise words of Maddy from Euphoria).
“I hope you walk in on your girlfriend with your dad / lose all your money in a 1-800 scam / I hope our sex tape ends up on the internet / so the whole world can pour a drink a have a laugh” sings Collins. Co-Written alongside her brother, Nico Collins, and both Lilian Caputo and Skylar Mones, the release is accompanied by an animalistic music video, capturing the pain Collins had felt. Surrounded by a gang of masked figures, the video depicts the cleansing of oneself.
Collins speaks on the creation of the track: “I started to feel angst I haven’t felt since high school and wanted to gear [the single] towards everyone who has done me wrong the past two years,” explains Collins. “I can definitely be a pushover sometimes, and writing a petty song like “WISH U HELL” made me feel like I was taking my power back and using my voice.”
Collins is a sparkplug princess, and this track provides a place of solace for those who have felt emotionally drained and trampled over. Produced alongside Nicki Adamsson (Charli XCX, Tove Lo), the beat is clean and strong, with fresh and grungey melodies.
