LJ Benet // Raise a Glass

When the world felt like it was ending, everything was shutting down, and the future was uncertain, it was easy to focus on the negatives. What 25-year-old California native LJ Benet did, was turn this hardship into something he could be proud of, and that his fans could benefit from – creating new music.

“Raise a Glass” by LJ Benet is a pop-rock anthem for people who feel as though they don’t have a voice, are stuck in a rut, or are experiencing hardship. This song is for the misfits and the rebels, the people who are overlooked or canceled. Benet wants people to feel as though it is okay to make their voice heard, even if you feel like there is too much noise around you.

As Steve Jobs said, “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes … the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo.”

Despite this crazy time we are all living in, there is still hope. People are evolving, making mistakes, and learning; this song is for the people who need to get back up and make their dreams come true in 2022.

After talking to Benet, I learned what guides him through life. The idea of “this too shall pass,” really pushes him forward and lets him know, “at my highs, okay don’t get comfortable, and at my lows, okay this isn’t the end.”

Life is a roller coaster, but let’s all raise a glass together and make the most of it!
