19-year-old New York Native, Ché blesses 2023 with his new release titled, Unplugged.
This project is extremely unique as all of it was played and recorded live. This gives a really authentic feel and I can truly say I haven’t heard anything like this from someone in the underground. Though the instrumentation is live, the production quality is still top-notch and adds to the quality of the actual music.
The actual music is very reminiscent of Jazz, Kendrick Lamar, and Smino. Ché has a very powerful flow and this shines through on the live instrumentation as it sounds like he is performing the songs to you. My favorite song is definitely August which sounds like Section.80 Kendrick Lamar.
All in all, this project is extremely solid. As I said, this is the most unique type of project I have heard out of the entire underground this year, so regardless of if you like this genre, I recommend taking a listen as it is beautifully put together.
