Here at Early Rising, we specialize in shining the light on artists who are criminally underrated, and today, it’s my distinct pleasure to showcase someone who fits perfectly in that category for only the best reasons. Anderson Hao is a rising singer/songwriter who has made it onto my radar a couple of times in the past, but a few days ago, I had the privilege of taking a deeper dive into her music, which has left me utterly speechless.
I find myself getting frustrated with the musical landscape these days since there is just so much volume, but it’s always refreshing when you stumble on an artist like Anderson who cuts through all of the noise and stands out in front of the rest. Her song, “SECOND RATE” might just be one of the prettiest offerings that I’ve listened to this year alone. I know that’s a lofty statement, but it’s important to give credit where credit is due.
From a songwriting standpoint, “SECOND RATE” does an amazing job of painting a beautiful picture that listeners will long to jump into; All thanks to Anderson’s phenomenal pen and story-telling abilities. On top of that, this up and comer possesses one of the most soothing voices around, which will make this one a transcendent listening experience for anyone who takes the time to lay theirs ears on this one.
